Three Decades of Media

Robert Parish has more than 30 years of experience in print and video communications.
After attending the University of Cincinnati and the American University, Parish began his professional career in 1973, as a freelance on-air contributor to National Public Radio's “All Things Considered.”
His work with NPR led him to a position at the Washington (D.C.) Bureau of ABC News. During his seven years with the network, he worked in both radio and television, covering hundreds of nationally-significant news events (Watergate, Nixon's Resignation, Errant Gerry Ford Tee Shots, Billy Carter Pumping Gas, Sam Donaldson vs. Jimmy Carter, Ayatollah Hostage-Taking, Three Mile Island, Cowboys vs. Redskins, etc.).
In 1980, Parish left the nation's capital to accept a public information position with the Washington State Legislature in Olympia, Washington. As the Legislature’s Communications Director, he coordinated media coverage, conducted video training seminars, and composed press releases, radio and TV spots, speeches, newsletters and assorted campaign literature for elected members of the state House and Senate.
Six years later – suffering from an acute case of bureaucratic writer's cramp – Parish returned to Ohio to resume a career in non-political scriptwriting, copywriting, media training, video production and television news. His first Buckeye client: Cincinnati news-legend Al Schottelkotte.
Working independently since 1987, Parish has acquired a solid reputation as an extraordinarily creative print and electronic communicator. He's reliable, deadline-sensitive, reasonably priced, often fun to be around, and has an impressive list of local and national customers (Procter & Gamble, NCR, Sara Lee, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Kroger, Thomson Learning, and many more).
Along with his corporate marketing and training work, Parish has continued to apply his considerable talents in the field of broadcast journalism. He’s an independent filmmaker with five internationally broadcast public television documentaries to his credit. And, his relationship with network news and sports has continued as well. He receives assignments from ESPN, NBC, NBA Entertainment, and American Public Television.
During his distinguished career, Parish has won dozens of awards for his scriptwriting and video production efforts.
